FRIENDS OF MATTHEW RUSIKE CHILDREN'S HOME
Fundraising Ideas
Fundraising events can be a wonderful opportunity to get together with your friends, family or colleagues and have fun whilst raising much-needed funds for MRCH.
Whatever you decide to do, your support, hard work and dedication is immensely valuable to us and the children we support. Remember fundraising should be fun!
We have a number of resources available that may assist you in your fundraising work. Please contact the Chairman with any questions.
For those looking for some basic tips and guidelines please read on.
Some of the events that we have found particularly successful in the past are:
1. Creating Gift Cards for Cambridge Road Methodist Church, Birmingham raised £400 from the Gift Cards in 2007 (nearly £500 when gift-aid was added).
2. Embroidering signatures, written on plain fabric, at a special events such as a silver wedding anniversary or 21st birthday. This is then presented to the person or couple. The funds are raised by charging the signatories.
3. A black tie dinner dance. Dance report.
Additional ideas might be sponsored events or social events where a small fee is charged. Take a look at the ideas listed below. If you would like FoMRCH committee members to be involved in your fundraising event, receive our information brochures for distributing or you would like to borrow a video or photograph display about the Home please contact the Chairman.
Sponsored Events
Ask family, friends and colleagues to sponsor you:
Please print off our Sponsorship form (please right click and select "Save Target As" to download).
Always let the person who is sponsoring you know about FoMRCH and set a final date for collecting money - two to three weeks after the event is reasonable.
Social and Fun events:
Organise one of the following and either charge an entrance fee or ask for a donation at the event.
Event Donations
Some events lend themselves to encouraging donations, for example family events such as weddings and funerals, 21st Birthdays and Wedding Anniversaries.
If you have held any fundraising events that were particularly successful and they are not listed here, please let us know so we can share the idea with others.
There has been no Government help for the Home since 2002. The Friends of MRCH now contribute approximately 80% of the daily running costs of the Home.
