As ever, funding is very tight at the Home, and once again, salary arrears are a big part of this. Despite this, the staff continue to work and hosted a successful annual Matthew Rusike Big Sunday fundraiser earlier this month.
Unfortunately, necessary cost-cutting means the number of children supported by the Home is reducing further.
On a brighter note:
- The Matthew Rusike Sunday School choir came first at Circuit level, competing with 21 other choirs, with a lovely photo of them on stage in their new uniforms in the newsletter
- The annual fundraiser recognised the dedication of several longstanding members of staff
- Home leavers taking jobs in Turkey, others studying at a University or taking vocational courses
- With two more students passing their Advanced level qualifications
